Lucknow: In a major initiative to promote local art, craft, and heritage, a grand cultural center is being developed near the historic Maharaja Tej Singh Judev Fort in Mainpuri district, with an investment of ₹63 crore. The project aims to position Mainpuri as a hub of cultural and artistic excellence in the region.
Speaking about the development, Jayveer Singh, MLA from Mainpuri Sadar and Minister of Tourism and Culture, said, “Mainpuri has been a priority for the state government over the past nine years, witnessing holistic development, improved infrastructure, and connectivity from urban centers to rural areas. This cultural center will celebrate our rich heritage, including the legacy of freedom fighters and the district’s ancient religious and historical sites.”
The center is being constructed on 25,544 square meters of land near the historic Tej Singh Fort and will feature a range of modern amenities, including a museum, exhibition spaces, open-air theater, library, hostel, and cafeteria. A contemporary auditorium with a capacity of 800 people is also under construction to host events and performances.
Special galleries are being planned to showcase local art, ancient sculptures, and traditional crafts, ensuring that Mainpuri’s vibrant cultural identity is preserved and promoted. The project aims to create a living hub for culture and tradition, providing a platform for local talents to shine.

Amrit Abhijat, Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism, Culture, and Endowments, added, “This cultural center is a significant step in presenting Mainpuri’s rich historical heritage in a modern format. The state government’s vision is to connect youth with their roots, instill cultural awareness, and foster pride in our history.”
Once completed, the Mainpuri Cultural Center is expected to become a landmark destination, strengthening the district’s position among the leading regions in the state in terms of development and cultural prominence.
