Lucknow: A grand celebration of Assam and Nagaland’s Foundation Day was held at Raj Bhavan under the chairmanship of Governor Anandiben Patel. The event featured vibrant folk dances showcasing the rich cultures of both states, captivating the audience. A documentary highlighting their cultural heritage and development was also screened.
Governor Patel congratulated the states and lauded the Central Government’s initiatives, including a Rs 200 crore development project for Rangghar and the Zoo cum Botanical Garden in Assam. She highlighted Rs11,000 crore in infrastructure projects like the Maa Kamakhya Access Corridor, roads, and bridges. Educational and healthcare advancements, including sports facilities in Nagaland and medical colleges in Karimganj, were praised.
Assam’s tea gardens, Kaziranga National Park, and Nagaland’s social spirit were celebrated. Folk dances like Bihu, Tiwa Bharat, and Naga Spearkick impressed the audience. The Governor also observed cultural exhibitions and urged people to explore Assam and Nagaland’s natural beauty and diversity, appreciating the rich traditions of the Northeast.
