Lucknow: The Governor of the state and Chancellor of the State Universities, Anandiben Patel held a review meeting of the self study report prepared for NAAC of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra, in the Pragyaakaksha of Raj Bhavan.
The Governor reviewed the SSR for the NAAC evaluation of the university and directed to identify slow learner students in the first year itself and make special efforts for their education. She directed to provide proper opportunities and guidance to slow learner students.
The Governor said in the review meeting that efforts should be made to solve the problems of the students by taking continuous feedback from them and for solving the problems, personal communication with the students and mutual discussions between the teachers are necessary.
Appreciating the Bapu Bazaar run by the university with the inspiration of the Governor, the Governor directed to work on the quality of the goods sold in the Bapu Bazaar and asked to involve as many students as possible in this work. Describing it as an important initiative for social service, she said that through this the university has made the students active participants in the upliftment of the society.
It is noteworthy that the students of the university collect various items and sell them to the poor and needy through Bapu Bazaar at a minimum amount. She called it a positive initiative for social upliftment and increase in social awareness and said that it develops a sense of social responsibility in the students.
The Governor praised the voice of Community Radio Agra run by the university and asked to discuss updated and contemporary issues through it. The Governor directed to provide correct information to the citizens about the diseases occurring in the rainy season, their symptoms and treatment measures through radio, as well as to increase awareness in the society on topics like environmental protection and promotion, importance of nutritious food and importance of cleanliness. She praised Sarathi the Tuition Finder App developed by the students of the university and directed to encourage such innovations.
The Governor said that mutual coordination among universities is necessary for excellent performance in NAAC. She said that students should also be made participants in NAAC preparation by telling them the usefulness of NAAC. It is noteworthy that the Governor has been continuously providing guidelines to the university for preparing for the highest grade in NAAC. On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, Special Officer Education Dr. Pankaj L. Johny, all the members of the NAAC team of the university and other officials were present.
