Governor inaugurates Cardiac Cath Lab, Endoscopy Suite, and Blood Bank at Health City Vistaar

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel inaugurated the Cardiac Cath Lab, Endoscopy Suite, and Blood Bank at Health City Vistaar Hospital, Gomtinagar, Lucknow, emphasizing the significance of affordable and advanced healthcare services. The event, held on Makar Sankranti, saw the Governor extending festive greetings to the attendees and highlighting the critical role of healthcare in society.

Healthcare as a Divine Duty

In her address, the Governor stated that the medical profession holds a status akin to divine service, as healthcare professionals not only treat patients but also provide them with emotional and mental support, granting them a new lease on life. She commended the hospital for its commitment to delivering continuous and quality healthcare under the guidance of senior doctors.

She urged hospitals to prioritize making cutting-edge medical facilities accessible at affordable costs, especially in rural and underserved areas. The Governor also suggested leveraging medical tourism to improve the availability and quality of healthcare in remote regions.

Tackling Lifestyle Diseases

Expressing concern over the rising number of cardiac patients, the Governor attributed the trend to sedentary lifestyles, poor dietary habits, lack of physical activity, and mental stress. She appealed to society to adopt healthier lifestyles, improve nutrition, and include regular exercise and yoga in their routines.

Importance of Blood Donation

Highlighting the value of blood donation, Governor Patel described it as an act of both social service and personal health benefit. She encouraged more individuals to donate blood, emphasizing its potential to save lives and contribute to humanity.

Vision for a Healthy and Educated India by 2047

Governor Patel called for a collective commitment to building a developed India by 2047 through quality healthcare and education. She underscored the need to focus on women’s health, advocating hemoglobin tests for nursing students to address nutrition-related health issues early. She mentioned initiatives such as “Garbh Sanskar” courses introduced in universities to promote awareness among young women about their health and well-being.

Role of Awareness in Reducing Patient Numbers

Governor Patel expressed concern over the increasing number of hospitals being accompanied by a corresponding rise in patient numbers. She stressed the importance of preventive measures and public awareness campaigns to reduce the incidence of illnesses. Citing yoga as a global health practice, she urged individuals to embrace an active lifestyle and avoid procrastination in health-related habits.

During the visit, the Governor toured the hospital facilities, appreciating the advanced infrastructure aimed at providing efficient and timely healthcare services. She emphasized that hospitals must ensure every patient who enters their premises leaves healthier and happier.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by prominent figures, including Dr. Sudhanshu Dwivedi, Head of KGMU’s Lari Cardiology Department, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, Co-founder and Managing Director of Health City Vistaar Hospital, along with a team of esteemed doctors and healthcare professionals.

The event concluded with a collective pledge to advance healthcare services in the region and beyond, ensuring affordable, accessible, and high-quality medical care for all.

Elaborating on the Health City Vistaar story, Dr.Sandeep Kapoor stated that the newly equipped Cardiac Cath Lab will provide advanced cardiac catheterization facilities, including angiography and angioplasty, to the residents of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and beyond. The lab will be managed by experienced cardiologists Dr. Vinod Kumar Tiwari and Dr. Anupam Mehrotra, both with over 15 years of expertise in their field.

Dr. Kapoor also announced that, for the first time in Uttar Pradesh, the hospital is introducing an advanced Endoscopy Suite, led by Dr. Abhinav Kumar, a gastroenterologist with a DM degree from the renowned Rela Medical College in Chennai. Additionally, the hospital inaugurated its modern Blood Bank. The event was attended by other members of the board of directors, including Dr. Sandeep Garg, Dr. K.B. Jain, and Dr. Rajesh Arora among others.

Speaking about the hospital’s vision, Dr. Kapoor said, “Our goal is to provide world-class healthcare services at affordable prices. These new facilities are a significant step towards achieving that goal, particularly for the residents of Lucknow and nearby districts.” He added that the hospital’s unique approach involves building the operational team first before constructing the hospital, contrary to the conventional method. This ensures seamless care for patients, even in non-cardiac emergencies, by leveraging the expertise and resources of the Cardiac Emergency ICU.

Answering questions from journalists, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, along with Dr. Sandeep Garg and Dr. K.B. Jain, emphasized that patient care is deeply ingrained in their operational philosophy. “Our backgrounds are rooted in treating patients from all walks of life, which drives our sensitivity toward patient needs. We also plan to provide affordable treatment options for those in need,” they added.

Dr. Vinod Kumar, a cardiac specialist present at the event, highlighted the advanced features of the Cath Lab. “The lab is located adjacent to an emergency area equipped with 10 ICU beds and a triage area with 6 beds. This setup minimizes delays in patient care, whether during arrival at the hospital or within its premises. The hospital has separate gates for OPD and emergency services, ensuring efficient patient management,” he explained. Dr. Kumar further emphasized the importance of the “golden hour” after a heart attack. “If angioplasty is performed within this critical hour, the heart sustains minimal damage and can function as a healthy organ, significantly impacting the patient’s future quality of life,” he concluded.
