Governor Chairs Review Meeting on Construction Progress of Guru Jambheshwar University in Moradabad

Calls for Timely, Quality Construction; No Misuse of Resources, Urges Coordinated Efforts by Officials

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel today chaired a review meeting in Moradabad to assess the progress of ongoing construction works at Guru Jambheshwar University, Moradabad. The university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Sachin Maheshwari, made a detailed presentation through a PowerPoint, outlining the progress made so far in various construction activities.

During the meeting, the Governor emphasized the need for strict quality control in all construction work, warning that negligence in quality would not be tolerated. She directed officials to ensure that all work is completed within stipulated deadlines and to maintain the highest standards throughout the process.

Anandiben Patel instructed that no construction materials should be misused and all necessary facilities must be made available to students. She further advised that the executing agency work according to a structured plan and that the Vice Chancellor and administrative officials coordinate closely for effective monitoring of progress.

The Governor proposed the development of a dedicated mobile application to track real-time updates on construction activities and directed officials to initiate work across all blocks of the university simultaneously. Additionally, she called for the appointment of an on-site engineer to oversee the quality and progress of work.

DIG Police,  Muniraj G, was directed to regularly inspect the construction of the police booth within the university premises to ensure quality standards are met. The Governor also instructed the executing agency to carry out tree plantation along with the construction of the boundary wall.

Seeking more details on hostel capacity, Governor Patel asked the Vice Chancellor to prepare a systematic plan for faculty recruitment based on the university’s requirements. She stressed strict adherence to recruitment guidelines and protocols, with no room for delays or irregularities.

The meeting also saw discussions on the university’s symbol, motto, GEM portal, UGC listing, and other administrative matters. The Governor directed concerned officials to take appropriate action on all fronts and reiterated that the university’s construction must be completed on time and to high-quality standards. She asked the Vice Chancellor to regularly review the ongoing construction work.

Present at the meeting were Divisional Commissioner  Anjaneya Kumar Singh, DIG  Muniraj G, District Magistrate  Anuj Singh, SSP  Satpal Antil, Vice Chancellor  Sachin Maheshwari, CDO  Sumit Yadav, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Regional Higher Education Officer Dr. Sandhya Rani Shakya, Finance Officer  Bhruv Narayan Jha, Registrar  Shashi Bhushan, Deputy Registrar Dinesh Kumar, Additional District Magistrate (Administration)  Gulab Chand, and other concerned officials.

Governor Tours Handicraft Factories in Moradabad

Prior to the meeting, Governor Anandiben Patel visited various handicraft units in Moradabad including Jain Metal Shilpgram, Marquee Impex, J.S. International Handicrafts, and Martco Export Factories. She observed intricate metal sculptures, religious artifacts, and artistic craftsmanship, praising the artisans for their exceptional work.

The Governor noted that Moradabad’s rich heritage plays a significant role in showcasing India’s traditional art and culture on the global stage.
