Lucknow: Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel reached Vinoba Seva Ashram Bartara along with Finance Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government Suresh Kumar Khanna and inaugurated the newly furnished building of Bank of Baroda branch Bartara situated in the premises of the Ashram by cutting the ribbon. In the same sequence, she garlanded the statue of Vinoba with a cotton garland and inaugurated the newly constructed Ahimsa Auditorium Granthagar building furnished with Rajya Sabha Cooperation Fund and observed it. She also visited the exhibition organised in the premises of the Ashram. She took information about the products made by the women of the self-help group in the exhibition and appreciated them.
On this occasion, Nandini Lok Mitra and Vinoba Pravah Sammelan programme was organised. In the programme, Chief Guest Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel and Special Guest Finance Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government Suresh Kumar Khanna distributed symbolic cheques of CCL amount of Rs. 3,65,41000 to 259 self-help groups. She also released books based on the thoughts of Vinoba Bhave.
While addressing the program, the Governor Anandiben Patel said that all the people of Vinoba Seva Ashram have devoted their entire life to improve the lives of the poor. He said that this is an opportunity to learn as well as to imbibe it in the heart. Such ashrams should be helped. Work should be done to advance daughters in the fields of education etc. He said that people should leave behind various types of social evils which destroy families. He stressed on following the ideas of Vinoba and Gandhiji and said that people should not forget their duty and should focus on it. He said that people leave their old parents in ashrams who raised them by facing hardships in life. One should never leave one’s parents in ashrams. Keep them with you, serve them.
The Governor told in the program that Raj Bhavan provides a support of Rs 150 crore to serve such ashrams so that children can be provided educational work etc. Arrangements like air conditioning, hot water, library etc. can be made in the ashrams. He said that the children who spend their lives begging on the streets should be enrolled in educational institutions by the ashrams and should be educated, efforts should be made to integrate them into the mainstream of life.
The Governor told the district level officers to ensure that all children go to school and no child should be deprived of education. Efforts should be made in schools to provide good education to children and prepare them for competition for their bright future so that children can be made IAS, IPS etc. The message of education should be taken to every home. He said that work is being done in the field of education by adopting villages. Improvements are being made in the village by adopting Anganwadi centres and TB patients. People join by doing good work.
Emphasizing on women’s education, he said that women are moving ahead in every field today.
The Government of India is benefiting women and poor families through many schemes, all schemes are reaching every home. He said that it is the responsibility of the public representatives that the schools should be good and good education should be given. He said that new people should be encouraged to join this ashram. He said that the country should move ahead and lead the world. The Prime Minister’s dream is that India should be number one in every field in the world. Everyone has to unite and bring India to number one.
Special guest Suresh Khanna stressed on adopting the ideas of Gandhiji and Vinobaji. Various other dignitaries also expressed their views in the conference. Dignitaries who did excellent work in various fields were also honored.
On this occasion, District Panchayat President Mamta Yadav, District Magistrate Umesh Pratap Singh, Dadraul MLA Arvind Kumar Singh, local public representatives, other officials and dignitaries related to Seva Ashram were present.
