Lucknow: The Gosainganj Police successfully apprehended a woman involved in the illegal sale of smack during late-night patrolling and vehicle checks between Mahurakala and Rampur villages.
The suspect, identified as Mausami, wife of Virendra Kumar, 24, resident of Rampur, Mahurakala, attempted to avoid attention near Gopeshwar Temple but became suspicious under questioning. Upon inspection by the police, her purse was found to contain 63 small paper packets of brown-colored smack, weighing a total of 48 grams.
During interrogation, Mausami admitted to selling the narcotic for profit, citing financial difficulties as her motivation. She was immediately taken into custody.
The case has been registered under FIR No. 124/26, Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act, Gosainganj Police Station, Lucknow, and the accused has been sent to jail following due legal procedures.
