Gorakhpur: The Gorakhnath temple was lit up in memory of the martyrs on Friday, on the following day of Diwali. The first lamp in the Bheem Sarovar area of the temple was lit by the Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath. The Chief Minister later paid an emotional tribute to the martyrs by putting flowers on their pictures on the Muktakashi stage.
The Gorakhnath Temple complex hosted the ‘Ek Diya Shaheedon Ke Naam’ program late Friday evening. The atmosphere was radiant with the glow of 11,000 earthen lamps as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ceremoniously inaugurated the event. He lit lamps near Bheem Sarovar and respectfully placed flowers on the portraits of martyrs adorning the Muktakashi platform.
This program was organized by the Bhojpuri Association of India (BHAI). The entire temple complex was illuminated with earthen lamps during the program, captivating onlookers.
On the Muktakashi stage within the temple complex, a cultural program was held featuring performances of patriotic songs and dances.
These presentations, centred on cultural nationalism, evoked enthusiastic responses from the audience, in the presence of the Chief Minister.
The program, held in tribute to the martyrs, began with a Ganesh Vandana performed by Sandeep Pandey’s team, coordinated by Dr. Rakesh Srivastava. Following this, Shruti Kasaudhan filled the atmosphere with patriotism through a moving rendition of ‘Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon.’
An emotionally stirring patriotic dance was performed by Satvika, and a powerful group dance led by Sarika Rai had children dancing in unison to patriotic tunes. Veer Sen Sufi’s spirited performance of a patriotic song uplifted the audience, while Vikas Mishra’s ‘bhajan’ captivated everyone with its devotion, with Shivendra Pandey conducting the performances smoothly.
During the program, Dr. Rakesh Srivastava, national president of ‘BHAI,’ along with Dhruv Srivastava, Suresh Srivastava, Rakesh Mohan, and Poonam Singh, presented Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with a statue of Lord Ram as a symbol of reverence.
