Lucknow: Avenir, the Career Counselling Club of La Martiniere Girls’ College, organized an informative session for the students of Class 12 on 8th April 2026, centered on higher education opportunities in Japan. The session was conducted by Ms. Amrita Gulati, a career counsellor with over two decades of experience in counselling, teaching and training whose understanding of student aspirations added depth and perspective to the session.
The session unfolded as an engaging exploration of Japan’s position as one of the world’s top five economies, distinguished by its advancements in technology, innovation and research. Students were introduced to the diverse spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate courses available to international aspirants.
A particularly engaging aspect of the session was its effort to clear common misconceptions. It was highlighted that a large number of courses are offered in English, thereby making Japan a far more accessible and affordable destination than often presumed. The discussion further encompassed the scholarship opportunities like the MEXT Scholarship, alongside opportunities for part time work, offering students a balanced perspective on financial feasibility.
Beyond academics, the session painted a vivid picture of student life in Japan one enriched by cultural immersion and global exposure.
The session concluded on a reflective and inspiring note, leaving students with broadened horizons and a confidence to view their futures beyond conventional boundaries.
