Giving back to society gets a foodie twist

Lucknow: Let’s Give Back has been working under the aegis of Back to Root for many years. In fact, this NGO was established in 2016 by the late Babita Saxena to promote Indian art and culture and a healthy lifestyle.
After the founder Babita Saxena, now her husband, retired Colonel Atul Saxena, is carrying forward Babita ji’s dream of reviving healthy food and ancient Indian traditions. He is dedicated to this work with body and soul.
Under its aegis, a national cookery competition is being organized for the last 6 years in which various states of India participate. The name of this competition is Kahin Ghum Na Ho Jaye.
This year, season 7 of this national competition is being organized. In which women from various states of India will try to give a new identity to the extinct recipes of those states at the national level.
Winners selected from different states will participate in the national competition in Delhi. This time the topic is — Our cuisine, our heritage.
The winner of the final to be held in Delhi will be awarded a prize money of 51 thousand, the co-winner will be awarded 31 thousand and the second co-winner will be awarded 21 thousand
This competition is different from the general competition, in this we promote the extinct dishes of India which are beneficial for our health. The healthy dishes of our grandmother’s time which have disappeared in today’s time and have been replaced by canned food. Which acts as poison for our health.
That is, in the era of modernity, health and wellness have been left behind, it is important to be aware of it. If we understand the qualities of those extinct dishes today, and adopt the right way of making and eating them which is right and nutritious for health, then only we will explain it to the next generation.
