Ghaziabad Shines as Model City Under PM Modi’s Vision: CM Yogi Adityanath

Ghaziabad — Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the remarkable transformation of Ghaziabad, attributing its progress to the inspiration and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing the media at the Kailash Mansarovar Bhavan during his visit, the Chief Minister said, “Ghaziabad has redefined its image over the last eight years. Once plagued by negative perception, the city now stands tall as a model of cleanliness, development, and efficient governance.”

Ghaziabad is now counted among the world’s top 50 cleanest cities and is ranked as Uttar Pradesh’s leading clean city. Highlighting the city’s achievements, CM Yogi emphasized its emergence as a symbol of modern urban management.

Flagging Off Mansarovar Pilgrims

During his address, the Chief Minister distributed travel kits to the first batch of pilgrims departing for the revered Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. He also announced that each returning pilgrim from Uttar Pradesh will receive a financial assistance of ₹1 lakh from the state government. “The Kailash Mansarovar Bhavan was built for the convenience of our pilgrims, and it is heartening to see over 200 devotees embarking on this sacred journey today,” he stated.

CM Yogi further instructed the Ghaziabad Development Authority and the Municipal Corporation to prepare a proposal for broader use of Kailash Mansarovar, Uttarakhand, and Purvanchal Bhavans by the public.

Major Infrastructure Milestones

The Chief Minister highlighted several groundbreaking developments:

  • Central Electronics Limited (CEL), once struggling, is now a profit-making ‘Mini Ratna’ PSU. CM Yogi and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh attended its Golden Jubilee and laid the foundation of a Green Data Centre.

  • CM Yogi also held a high-level review meeting with Ghaziabad representatives, discussing infrastructure expansion and future projects.

  • A comprehensive plan has been initiated to establish Greater Ghaziabad, integrating Khoda, Loni, and Muradnagar into the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation.

Ghaziabad’s Transformation

Reflecting on the past decade, CM Yogi noted, “Ten years ago, it was unimaginable that Ghaziabad would be connected via a 12-lane Greenfield Expressway, host India’s first Rapid Rail, and have its own metro and airport. Today, all of that is a reality.”

He announced the launch of an Integrated Office Complex to house all district-level administrative functions and enhance coordination, along with the establishment of Police Commissioner Headquarters to improve law and order.

Green and Clean Initiatives

Ghaziabad has seen a surge in greenery and cleanliness. “Where once garbage heaps stood, we now see Miyawaki forests and vibrant city greens,” the CM said, citing the city’s adoption of Japanese techniques for forest development.

He also announced massive revival efforts for the Hindon River, including natural purification and the ambitious ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ plantation drive along the riverbanks.

New Sports & Housing Projects

CM Yogi revealed that land previously allotted to the BCCI in Rajnagar Extension, which remained unused, will now be repurposed. The Ghaziabad Development Authority will construct and operate a modern stadium on the site.

He also inaugurated ‘PAHAL’ – Public Access for Housing and Property Allotment Login Portal, a single-window digital platform offering end-to-end online services for property allocation, certification, registry bookings, bank loan permissions, and property transfers. The portal aims to bring speed, transparency, and accessibility to the housing system.

A New Chapter for Ghaziabad

Concluding his address, CM Yogi stated, “The double-engine government is committed to ensuring inclusive development, improved civic amenities, and enhanced employment opportunities for all. Ghaziabad’s progress is a shining example of our vision for a new Uttar Pradesh.”

The event was also attended by IT Minister  Sunil Kumar Sharma, Minister for Backward Class Welfare  Narendra Kumar Kashyap, and several local representatives and officials.
