GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL LUCKNOW HOSTS 9TH EDITION OF MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE 2025

Lucknow: GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow, successfully hosted the 9th edition of its prestigious Model United Nations (MUN) Conference on October 10 and 11, 2025. The two-day event provided a dynamic platform for students to deliberate on crucial global issues encompassing international relations, diplomacy, world politics, and trade tariffs — topics that mirror the complexities of today’s world.

The conference witnessed an impressive participation of over 750 delegates representing 38 schools from Lucknow and other cities, mentored by 35 distinguished Executive Board Members from across India. The opening ceremony began with a powerful Tandav dance performance, followed by an inspiring address by Senior IAS and Chief Secretary Basic & Secondary Education, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, Parth Sarthi Sen Sharma, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The Principal also addressed the gathering, commending the delegates for their enthusiasm and commitment to global learning.GD Goenka Public School’s Chairman,  Sarvesh Goel, welcomed all participating schools and educators, emphasizing the school’s commitment to nurture the innate talent and potential of the students and bring it to the forefront. He stated that Model United Nations is a vital platform for students to explore, discuss, and exchange global ideas. Around 750 students joined as representatives of various countries to discuss and find solutions to global issues.

Participating committees included ALL INDIA POLITICAL PARTIES MEET, AKBAR’S IBADATKHANA, JCC, UNSC, UNW, WTO, UNGA-ESS, UNHRC, HSRA, LOK SABHA, IPC PHOTOGRAPHY, IPC JOURNALISM, DUMBARTON OAKS CONFERENCE. The participating students from each committee presented their views on assigned topics and proposed solutions. The two days were filled with intense debate, research, and diplomacy as students took on the roles of world leaders to find solutions to real-world issues.

The closing ceremony was marked by appreciation and recognition of the participants’ dedication and intellect. Best Delegate awards were presented across all committees for their exemplary performance. The event concluded on a proud note as La Martiniere Boys’ College, Lucknow,was declared the Best School Delegation, earning well-deserved applause for their outstanding performance and teamwork.

The event was a celebration of intellect, leadership, and teamwork — a true reflection of the dedication and hard work of the students. Such experiences empower learners with life skills, confidence, and a global perspective that will guide them well into their future academic and professional journeys.
