Mumbai: Manish Malhotra, the celebrated fashion designer, is venturing into film production with his debut movie, ‘Gustakh Ishq,’ set for release in November 2025 under his banner, Stage Five Production. The film is a passionate love story set in the bylanes of Old Delhi and the faded mansions of Punjab.
Malhotra has always been a great admirer of cinema, and he sees this new chapter as a way to give back to the medium that shaped his creative vision. He says, “My love for cinema dates back to my childhood. Watching colors, music, and stories sparked my imagination and inspired me to become a designer. Today, stepping into film production is my way of giving back to the medium that gave me everything.”
Directed by Vibhu Puri, ‘Gustakh Ishq’ features a stellar creative team, with music by Vishal Bhardwaj, lyrics by Gulzar, sound by Resul Pookutty, and cinematography by Manush Nandan. The cast includes seasoned actor Naseeruddin Shah alongside talented performers Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sharib Hashmi.
The film, co-produced by his brother Dinesh Malhotra, aims to bring new and inspiring stories to the screen. It is described as a daring tale of love, passion, and unspoken emotions, promising to be a classic story that will touch hearts while also stepping toward the future of Indian cinema.
