From Certificates to Complaints, Everything Online: UP’s Digital Leap Reflected in NESDA 2025 Report

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a strong national performer in digital governance, as highlighted in the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NESDA) 2025 report. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state has built a robust digital service delivery ecosystem, offering citizens seamless, transparent, and time-bound access to government services.

According to the NESDA 2025 findings, Uttar Pradesh currently operates 929 e-services, placing it among the leading states in the country. Notably, the state has achieved 100 per cent implementation of all 59 mandatory e-services, a milestone that underlines the government’s commitment to making digital governance the backbone of administration rather than a mere policy objective.

Strong National Presence in e-Governance

The NESDA report notes that a total of 23,934 e-services are being delivered across India. Uttar Pradesh’s contribution of 929 services represents a significant share, reflecting the scale and depth of its digital outreach despite its vast population and complex administrative structure.

This achievement demonstrates how technology-driven governance can simplify administration, enhance transparency, and place citizens at the centre of service delivery, even in one of India’s largest states.

Everyday Services Just a Click Away

In the domain of local governance and utility services, 8,463 e-services are available nationwide. Uttar Pradesh has shown notable progress in this segment as well. Essential services such as caste, income and domicile certificates, birth and death registration, pensions, and scholarships are now accessible online, ensuring convenience for both rural and urban residents.

These digital services have significantly reduced paperwork, eliminated the need for repeated visits to government offices, and improved turnaround times, bringing tangible relief to citizens.

Integrated Portals Strengthen Service Delivery

Uttar Pradesh has also performed strongly in integrated service delivery. As per the NESDA report, nearly 88 per cent of the state’s e-services are available through integrated portals. Platforms such as Nivesh Mitra and e-District together offer over 822 services at a single point, benefiting citizens as well as investors.

This integration has had a positive impact on Ease of Doing Business and public convenience, reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s image as an investor-friendly and citizen-centric state.

Steady Growth and Effective Grievance Redressal

Data from the past year shows consistent growth in digital services. The number of e-services in Uttar Pradesh increased from around 800 in November 2024 to 929 by November 2025, reflecting continuous monitoring and administrative reforms under the Chief Minister’s leadership.

The state has also strengthened its digital grievance redressal system. NESDA notes that 33 states and Union Territories across the country have achieved full compliance in public grievance-related services, with Uttar Pradesh featuring prominently among them. This highlights the government’s focus not only on service delivery but also on ensuring that citizens’ voices are heard and addressed through digital platforms.

A Model of Digital Governance

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s governance model is rooted in faceless, paperless, and time-bound administration. The NESDA 2025 report validates this approach with measurable outcomes, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a national model for digital governance.

With continuous expansion of e-services and stronger digital infrastructure, Uttar Pradesh is steadily establishing itself as a key pillar of New India’s digital transformation, moving closer to becoming a leading digital engine of the country.
