Lucknow: A memorial program was held at the Hari Krishna Awasthi Auditorium in Lucknow University to honor the late Nazmul Hasan Zaidi, a distinguished senior administrative officer who was known for his exceptional service and deep connection with people. The event brought together numerous prominent figures who shared their heartfelt tributes to his legacy.

As the chief guest, Prof. Dinesh Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP, delivered a touching speech highlighting the personality of Nazmul Hasan Zaidi. Reflecting on his student days, Prof. Sharma fondly recalled Zaidi’s close relationship with not just officers and employees but also with students, despite his high-ranking administrative position. Prof. Sharma shared several personal anecdotes, emphasizing how Nazmul Hasan Zaidi was admired by all for his approachability and kindness, making him a beloved figure in both academic and administrative circles.

Dr. Ammar Rizvi, former Acting Chief Minister and senior leader, spoke emotionally about his family ties with Nazmul Hasan. He expressed that talented individuals like Zaidi never truly pass away, as they continue to live on in the hearts of the people. Dr. Rizvi’s words underscored the enduring impact of Zaidi’s life and work, which still resonates with all who knew him.

The program also featured Prof. Abbas Ali Mehndi from Era Medical University, who emphasized the importance of today’s younger generation adopting the simple, gentle lifestyle and personal warmth that Nazmul Hasan Zaidi exemplified. He highlighted that Zaidi’s personal qualities were as commendable as his professional achievements.

The program was presided over by Prof. Aroop Chakraborty, who acknowledged the significant contributions of Nazmul Hasan Zaidi in the fields of administration and education.

Other dignitaries who attended and offered their tributes included  Siraj Mehndi (former MLC), Amir Haider Advocate, Maulana Yasoob Abbas, Prof. VD Sharma, Prof. Suleman Rizvi,  Insram Ali,  Jameel Hasan Naqvi, and Dr. Haroon Rizvi. Each speaker shared their personal stories and memories of Nazmul Hasan Zaidi, painting a picture of a man whose legacy of humility, professionalism, and humanism will always remain cherished.

The event was a heartfelt homage to a man who touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact on the administrative and academic world.
