Lucknow/Puri: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Tourism emerged as the center of attraction at the 40th Annual Convention of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), held in Puri, Odisha, from August 22 to 25. Themed “Rejuvenate Inbound @2030”, the event drew over 1,000 participants, including tour operators, travel media, hoteliers, and policymakers.

The Uttar Pradesh pavilion showcased the centuries-old perfume-making tradition of Kannauj, the spiritual triangle of Kashi-Ayodhya-Prayagraj, and grand cultural festivals like Deepotsav and Rangotsav. Delegates were particularly captivated by Kannauj’s perfume tourism.

Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh said UP aims to become India’s most diverse tourism destination by 2030, offering experiences that combine heritage, spirituality, and modern attractions. Principal Secretary (Tourism & Culture) Mukesh Kumar Meshram emphasized the state’s focus on eco-tourism, wellness, agro-tourism, river tourism, and perfume tourism, ensuring visitors take home not just memories but a deep cultural connection.

Key discussions highlighted the Ramayana Circuit, Varanasi riverfront, Dudhwa and Bundelkhand’s eco-tourism. The state’s major achievements—**Kashi Vishwanath Dham’s redevelopment, Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, successful Prayagraj Kumbh, new airports, and smart city projects—**have given UP global recognition as a vibrant destination.

The convention continues for two more days, with UP Tourism showcasing new investment opportunities. Officials from the Union Tourism Ministry, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, and UP Tourism attended the inaugural sessions.
