Ayodhya: Acting on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Kunwar Anupam Singh, the Kotwali Nagar Police achieved a major breakthrough in the ongoing crackdown on criminal elements. On Wednesday, during a routine vehicle check at Amahat Chauraha, police arrested four notorious bike thieves and recovered 10 stolen motorcycles near the old airstrip in Amahat.
Accused Identified as Repeat Offenders
The arrested individuals have been identified as Shubham Kumar and Ayush Dubey from Ayodhya, along with Mahan Dubey and Sachin Tiwari from Ambedkar Nagar district. All four have confessed to stealing the motorcycles from different areas and were on their way to sell them when they were intercepted by the police.
The stolen motorcycles include models such as HF Deluxe, Passion Plus, Bajaj Platina, Discover, Splendor Plus, and Pulsar. Several of the vehicles were found with tampered or unreadable number plates and engine-chassis numbers, making identification difficult.
Swift Action Based on Informant Tip-Off
According to Kotwali Nagar SHO Dheeraj Kumar, the arrests were made following a tip-off from an informant. A team was swiftly deployed and the suspects were apprehended during a coordinated blockade. During interrogation, the accused admitted their plan to sell the stolen bikes.
Police Team Lauded for Vigilance
The successful operation was executed by a dedicated team led by Inspector Yaduveer Singh and Sub-Inspector Shivanand Yadav, along with police personnel Vinay Kumar Singh, Santosh Pal Singh, Head Constable Abhishek Mishra, Rishiraj Singh, Constables Narsingh, Ram Prakash, Chandan Yadav, and Satyendra Kushwaha.
The arrested individuals have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC, and further investigations are underway to trace the original owners of the stolen motorcycles and uncover any broader network of vehicle theft.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to aid in ongoing anti-crime efforts.
