New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi made several big announcements in the ‘Women Justice Dialogue’ organized in Delhi. Rahul said that he will give place to women in Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies. He said that he wants 50 percent women here. Women will be given 50 percent reservation in government jobs. This country cannot progress unless there is participation of women.
Vote sought for Congress candidate Udit Raj
Appealing to vote for Congress candidate Udit Raj from North-West Delhi, Rahul Gandhi said that both men and women go to work, but when the woman returns home, her second shift begins. She raises the children and takes care of them when they are sick. She cooks food at home, takes care of everyone and women are never given anything for this. In a way, she does all this for free.
Women’s economic thinking is better than men
He further said that it is true that if Indian men work for 8 hours, then women work for 16 hours. The way of spending money is different between men and women. Women save money, think about children, plan ahead. Women’s economic thinking is better than men. The government will pay women for these 8 hours. We do not want you to work for free, so we have brought the ‘Mahalakshmi Yojana’. Under the Mahalakshmi Yojana, Rs 8,500 per month i.e. Rs 1 lakh per year will be deposited in the bank account of women.
He said that women living below the poverty line will get the benefit of this. The thinking behind this is that women can make the family financially strong. The second thing is that you work for free, our thinking is that you should not work for free. The third thing is that if women are given money, they will think long term. We know that the voice of women is suppressed. You are suppressed at home, you are suppressed in society, you are threatened on the streets.
Attack on BJP
Rahul Gandhi launched a big attack and said that BJP passed the Women Reservation Bill in the Parliament with a lot of fanfare. After this, they said that they will implement it after 10 years. There will be a survey and then it will be implemented. These people will not even do a survey. The survey is not going to be done even for 20, 25, 50 years. Their biggest organization is RSS and they do not accept women in RSS. We will not do this, we will give you women reservation immediately.
