Rae Bareli: On March 9, 2026, Shri Rajan Srivastava formally assumed charge as the first full-time Registrar of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT).
His appointment, for a tenure of five years, was approved by the Board of Governors of RGIPT.
Prior to this role, Shri Srivastava was serving as Joint Registrar at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) BHU. He brings with him over 30 years of extensive experience in administrative and academic functions of higher educational institutions.
While assuming charge as the first full-time Registrar of RGIPT, Shri Srivastava stated that his foremost priority will be to establish a robust administrative system and ensure that all stakeholders of the Institute derive its benefits.

The appointment of the first full-time Registrar is expected to provide fresh momentum and direction to the administrative and academic activities of RGIPT.
On his arrival at the institute, Deputy Registrar Shri Sameer Ranjan Singh along with other officers of the institute welcomed him with a bouquet.
