Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is making stringent preparations to make Mahakumbh 2025 completely safe for the devotees. Especially to control the incidents of fire, many state-of-the-art equipment and new technologies will be used by the fire department. The aim of the government is to complete this Mahakumbh as a “Zero Fire Incident”.
New system: Manpower and equipment increased
The number of manpower and equipment has been increased drastically to control the incidents of fire during Mahakumbh 2025. Smart cameras equipped with AI will be deployed for fire detection and monitoring. Through these cameras, immediate information about fire incidents will be sent to the control room, so that fire brigade vehicles can reach the spot in just two minutes.
Deployment of 5,000 fire extinguishers and 351 fire vehicles
5,000 special fire extinguishers are being provided to deal with fire incidents in Akharas and other important areas. Apart from this, a total of 351 fire vehicles will be deployed during the Maha Kumbh, which is almost double the number compared to 2019. While 43 temporary fire stations were built in 2019, 50 stations will be set up this time. Apart from this, 20 temporary fire posts, 50 fire watch towers and more than 7,000 fire hydrants will be installed.
Special training and improvement in response time
Special training programs are being organized for fire personnel, which also include practical sessions. The government has signed agreements with fire services at the national and state level to make comprehensive preparations for possible incidents in Kumbh. MoUs have been signed with Uttarakhand Fire and Emergency Service and National Fire Service College Nagpur, which will help in external audit and training.
State-of-the-art equipment will be used
Despite 55 fire incidents in 2019, there was no loss of life or property, but this time the government aims to bring the number of these incidents to zero. In 2013, there were 612 fire incidents in Maha Kumbh, in which 6 people died and 15 people were severely burnt. This time in Maha Kumbh, more modern equipment will be used than ever before to control fire incidents.
It is the endeavor of the Yogi government that the organization of Maha Kumbh 2025 should not only be a religious and cultural event, but it should become an example that the government has left no stone unturned in terms of security.
