Ayodhya: The construction work of the grand Ram Temple complex in Ayodhya has entered its final stage, with 99% of the work already completed. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has begun holding regular review meetings of the temple construction committee. A two-day meeting of the committee commenced on Friday to assess the final stretch of the work.
Committee chairman Nripendra Mishra, who inspected the site on Thursday, informed that construction of all temples within the complex, including idol installation and consecration rituals, will be completed by June 5, 2025. A three-day festival for the installation of idols will be held from June 3, 2025.
Ram Darbar Idols to Arrive on May 23
Mishra added that although the initial plan was to complete the entire temple work earlier, the Ram Darbar idols, currently being crafted in Jaipur, Rajasthan, will now reach Ayodhya on May 23. These idols will be placed in the sanctum sanctorum on the first floor of the main temple. He also revealed that all doors on the ground floor have been covered with gold, and the temple’s shikhara (spire) will also feature gold embellishments.
Main Temple to Be Handed Over by Early September
According to Mishra, the main Ram Temple will be handed over to the trust by the last week of August or the first week of September 2025. The STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) and PFC (Power Facility Center) have already been handed over. Additionally, gold work on all temple spires is expected to be completed by the end of July. Mishra also said that all weapons and divine items kept within the temple will be made of gold.

Ram Darbar Darshan from Close Proximity
Once the Ram Darbar is established on the first floor, public viewing (darshan) will begin. As part of a three-month technical and seismic resistance trial, 750 devotees per day will be allowed to view the idols from close proximity, with only 50 devotees at a time. The passes will be available online for free on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
Sensor-Based Monitoring for Safety
Ten high-precision sensors will be installed on the first floor to monitor the movement of the stone structures. Engineers will study this data over a three-month period to ensure structural stability and safety.
Completion Timeline for the Entire Complex
While the temples and idol installations will conclude by early June, the entire Ram Temple complex is expected to be fully completed by December 2025, marking a significant milestone in this monumental project.
