Lucknow: State Technical Education and Consumer Affairs Minister Ashish Patel has directed that the requisition for the vacant posts of the department should be sent soon, so that the vacant posts can be filled on time. He directed that all gazetted officers should ensure that the details of their property are uploaded on the Manav Sampada portal by June 30.
He said that consumer related services should be widely publicized. The traders should be given all possible help from the government and action should be taken against those who indulge in malpractices. He said that the pending cases in the District Commission and State Commission under the State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, Uttar Pradesh should be resolved in a timely manner.
Minister Patel reviewed the departmental works related to the Consumer Affairs Department in the assembly hall of the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday. He said that creating a favorable environment for the industry and trade world is the priority of the government.
For this, various efforts have been made for the convenience of traders. The department has made arrangements for SOP and online departmental fees, which is bringing ease and uniformity in departmental work. The fee for the services received on the departmental portal through online medium is deposited directly on the state treasury portal. At present 14 services have been made online. He informed that in order to create a favorable environment for the industry and business world, the minor punitive provisions of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 have been legalized by the Government of India. Under this, the Public Trust (Amendment of Provisions) Act 2023 has been passed, in which the amount of penalty has been increased and the provision of punishment has been abolished.
It was told in the meeting that the complaints received on the IGRS portal and Chief Minister’s online references are being disposed of promptly, due to which no complaint is pending. The online applications received on the departmental portal are being disposed of within the notified time limit under the Public Interest Guarantee Act. Principal Secretary Consumer Affairs Alok Kumar, Special Secretary, Abhishek Goyal, Controller, Prabhash Kumar, Joint Secretary , Rajendra Kumar, Deputy Controller , LK Pandey and other departmental officers were present in the meeting.
