Moradabad : A special fee distribution program for underprivileged girls was organized at the Panchayat Bhavan auditorium in Moradabad by the social organization Nanhi Si Chidiya Trust. The event was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Minister for Women Welfare, Child Development, and Nutrition, Baby Rani Maurya, who lit the ceremonial lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Maurya emphasized that there is no fixed time or age for serving society—what truly matters is the passion to bring change. She lauded the efforts of Nanhi Si Chidiya Trust for empowering girls through education and helping them grow into responsible and successful citizens. “Education gives wings to girls, and they will make the nation proud,” she said.
Highlighting India’s rich legacy of empowered women, the Minister urged the girls present not to leave their education incomplete and to pursue their dreams with dedication. She stressed the importance of gender equality, encouraging society to provide equal educational opportunities to both boys and girls.
Minister Maurya also elaborated on the various welfare initiatives undertaken by the Uttar Pradesh government. These include widow pensions, distribution of nutritional supplements to nearly 2 crore children across the state, and education support for children who lost their parents during the COVID-19 pandemic. She mentioned that under the Kanya Sumangala Yojana, the financial aid given to girls has been increased from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000. Additionally, women affected by violence or other hardships are being supported through the Rani Lakshmibai Mahila Samman Kosh and One Stop Centres set up for women’s welfare.

During the event, Minister Maurya handed over fee cheques to students adopted by the Nanhi Si Chidiya Trust. The ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries including Moradabad MLA Ritesh Gupta, Trust Chairperson Alpana Ritesh Gupta, District Panchayat Chairperson Dr. Shaifali Singh, BJP City President Girish Bhandula, along with social workers, school principals, teachers, and students.
The program served as a strong message of commitment toward girl child education and women empowerment in Uttar Pradesh.
