Mumbai | Bollywood actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar is all set to return to the big screen with a stirring war drama titled ‘120 Bahadur’, a film that captures the valiant stand of Indian soldiers during the 1962 Rezang La battle. Shot in the harsh terrains of Ladakh at 14,000 feet above sea level, the movie is said to be one of the most physically demanding projects of Farhan’s career.
According to sources close to the production, the team braved extreme temperatures ranging from -5°C to -10°C, facing the brutal cold in order to depict the historic war with authenticity and respect. “Farhan pushed his physical and mental limits to do justice to this monumental story,” a unit member revealed.
A Tribute to Major Shaitan Singh Bhati
Farhan plays the lead role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, a Param Vir Chakra awardee, who led the Charlie Company of the 13 Kumaon Regiment during the infamous Battle of Rezang La. Outnumbered and outgunned, the 120 Indian soldiers held their ground against thousands of enemy troops, displaying unmatched courage and sacrifice.
To embody the role, Farhan underwent rigorous military training and adapted to high-altitude conditions, embracing both the emotional and physical challenges the role demanded.
