Lucknow: In a deeply spiritual and reflective gathering, the Assembly of Believers Church Aliganj organized a solemn Good Friday Service on April 3, 2026, at its premises in Bada Chandganj, Aliganj, Lucknow. Held from 12 noon to 3 pm, the service formed a significant part of a series of observances planned across the city to commemorate Good Friday.
The worship began with the devotional hymn “Lakri Pe Latka Nasari”, led by Ankur, Sneha, Minakshi, Anjali, and Brother Rohit, setting a reverent tone for the congregation. The service was guided by Rev Dr Morris Kumar, who introduced a group of seven speakers reflecting on the “Seven Last Words” of Jesus Christ spoken during the crucifixion.
Adding depth to the spiritual experience, a short skit depicting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ was presented under the direction of Sister Vartika. This was complemented by a moving choreography performed by church children, which vividly portrayed the suffering and sacrifice associated with the crucifixion.
Special musical presentations by Sister Jaya, Brother Shashank, and Brother Arpan further enriched the atmosphere, as they sang hymns reflecting on Christ’s sacrifice. Worship leader Brother Oswin Moses led the congregation in soulful renditions of songs such as “Krush Pe Kurban,” “Calvary Ke Paas Khada Hun,” and “Krush Pe Kash.”

The message of the day was delivered by Pastor Upendra, Pastor Rahul, Pastor Rishab, Sister Vartika, Sister Neha, and Brother Oswin, each elaborating on one of the seven last sayings of Christ, emphasizing themes of forgiveness, sacrifice, and faith.
A special prayer for the sick and needy was offered by Rev Dr Morris Kumar, invoking blessings and healing. The service concluded with fellowship over tea and refreshments, bringing together around 120 members of the congregation in unity and devotion.
The Good Friday observance stood as a poignant reminder of faith, sacrifice, and compassion, leaving attendees spiritually uplifted and reflective.
