Lucknow: In the Budget 2026-27, a major financial provision is made to strengthen village governance and directly improve rural living standards. An allocation of approximately Rs 32,090 crore is proposed for Panchayati Raj schemes, which is 67 percent higher than the year 2025-26. This increase indicates rapid expansion of infrastructure and basic amenities in villages.
A provision of Rs 2,823 crore is made for the second phase of Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), which will further strengthen sanitation infrastructure in villages.
An allocation of Rs 454 crore is being made for establishment of digital libraries at the Gram Panchayat and ward level. This will provide modern study facilities to rural youth and students within their villages.
A provision of Rs 130 crore is made for construction of rural stadiums and open gyms to promote sports culture in villages.

Construction of 1000 Multipurpose Panchayat Bhawans, Rs 100 crore provision for Barat Ghar in rural areas of every Assembly constituency
In the financial year 2026-27, approximately Rs 57 crore is provided for construction of 1000 Multipurpose Panchayat Bhawans.
Along with this, a provision of Rs 100 crore is being made for construction of Panchayat Utsav Bhawan or Barat Ghar in the rural area of each Assembly constituency.
The objective of the Yogi Government is to develop Gram Panchayats as self reliant units by providing them with resources, infrastructure and authority.
