Lucknow – An extensive tree plantation drive was jointly organized by the Environment Restoration Committee and the Ahilyabai Holkar Sanskriti Club (Cultural Club) of Navyug Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Lucknow. The primary objective of this campaign was environmental protection, enhancing biodiversity, and mitigating the negative impacts of climate change.
The campaign was inaugurated by Principal Prof. Manjula Upadhyay. On this occasion, the college’s students and teachers actively participated with great enthusiasm. Various species of plants, including Palm and Kochia, were planted within the college premises as part of the program. Tree plantation not only helps in making the environment clean and safe but also serves as a means of leaving a green legacy for future generations. Through this effort, the youth were also called upon to play an active role in the direction of nature conservation. During the program, efforts were made to make the girl students aware of environmental challenges, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the importance of tree care.
The Environment Restoration Committee and the Ahilyabai Holkar Sanskriti Club have resolved to regularly organize such programs in the future to further strengthen the spirit of environmental protection in society. Esteemed teachers of the college and all members of the Environment Committee were present at the event.
