Explore Bareilly’s Culture and History with Newly Launched Coffee Table Book

Bareilly– Under the guidance of District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar, the publication of Bareilly’s Coffee Table Book has been launched, aimed at preserving and promoting the rich historical, cultural, and religious heritage of the city.

Bareilly, also known as Nath Nagri, holds immense significance with its ancient temples dating back to the Mahabharata era, which are spread across all directions of the district. Among the historical landmarks is the Ramnagar Fort, which has remained as a relic of the Mahabharata period, and the city is also referred to as Panchal Nagar. The city’s unique identity comes from its varied historical, religious, social, and cultural influences, which make it stand out among other regions.

The district is also known as Rohilkhand, and its famous religious and historical sites include the Ramnagar Ahichhatra Fort area, Nath Temples such as Dhopeshwar Nath, Tapeswar Nath, Mani Nath, Alakh Nath, Trivartinath, and Vankhandinath temples, along with other prominent sites like the Ahichhatra Parshwanath Jain Mandir, Tulsimath Mandir, Hari Mandir, Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Hafi Rehmatullah Khan’s tomb, Dargah-e-Ala Hazrat, Dargah Khanqah-e-Niyazia, Freewill Baptist Church, Christ Methodist Church, St. Stephen Church, Gurudwara Sri Nanakpuri Sahib Ji, Bareilly Cantonment, and Panchal Museum. These attractions represent the deep-rooted cultural and spiritual heritage of Bareilly, which has evolved over centuries.

In addition to the temples and historical sites, Bareilly is famous for its delectable sweets like jalebi, kulfi, and imarti, as well as its street food, which has been part of the city’s long-standing culinary legacy. The region is also known for its traditional attire, handicrafts such as zari-zardozi work, and kite-making traditions. To further promote these facets of Bareilly, the Coffee Table Book offers a comprehensive guide to the city’s tourist attractions, food, culture, crafts, and archaeological wealth.

The book is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the region’s heritage, aimed at educating both domestic and international tourists. The book includes a modern touch with QR codes that allow readers to scan and view videos related to each landmark, offering an immersive experience for those seeking to learn more about Bareilly’s rich past.

Through this initiative, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar hopes to preserve and encourage tourism in the region, making it accessible for future generations while showcasing the city’s unique historical and cultural assets. The Coffee Table Book serves as a valuable resource for promoting Bareilly’s heritage and educating visitors about its diverse cultural and historical significance.
