Agartala/Lucknow: As part of the Yogi government’s promotional campaign for Prayagraj Maha Kumbh 2025, a grand roadshow was organized in Agartala, the capital of Tripura. This special event witnessed the participation of a large number of local citizens, representatives of religious organizations, and cultural groups. The roadshow became a powerful medium to spread awareness about Indian culture, spiritual traditions, and the significance of Maha Kumbh among the masses. Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of Technical Education and Consumer Affairs, Ashish Patel, and Minister of Vocational Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge), Kapil Dev Agarwal, led the event, providing detailed insights into the significance and preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025. They stated that under the inspiration and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Maha Kumbh will be held from January 13 to February 26, 2025, on the sacred banks of the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers in Prayagraj.
In his address, Minister Ashish Patel described Maha Kumbh as the heartbeat of India’s cultural and spiritual consciousness. He said that the event not only restores religion and culture but also strengthens the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ (One India, Great India). He added that the Yogi government is committed to making this event divine, grand, and unparalleled.
Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal emphasized that Maha Kumbh symbolizes India’s cultural heritage and is not merely a religious ritual but also a reflection of social harmony and spiritual awareness. Both ministers extended invitations to the citizens of Tripura to participate in Maha Kumbh.
Maha Kumbh 2025 will be held from January 13 to February 26 in Prayagraj. It will be the largest spiritual gathering in the world, with an estimated 450 million pilgrims, saints, and Kalpavasis expected to attend. The Uttar Pradesh government has made special arrangements to make it a grand and divine experience. Several initiatives have been undertaken to digitize this year’s Maha Kumbh, including a dedicated website, mobile app, and AI-based chatbot in 11 languages. Additionally, advanced technologies like a digital lost-and-found center, ICT-based monitoring, and Google Map integration will be employed.
Efforts are being made to make Maha Kumbh 2025 clean, green, and environmentally friendly. Over 150,000 toilets, 5,000 urinals, and 1,500 Ganga Sevaks have been deployed across the fair area. Single-use plastics have been banned, and environmental awareness campaigns are being conducted. Furthermore, over 300,000 trees have been planted across the city, with a long-term plan for their conservation.
Comprehensive arrangements have been made for the safety and health of pilgrims during Maha Kumbh. The entire fair area has been divided into seven security zones. A total of 2,750 CCTV cameras equipped with AI-based monitoring systems will be installed. For healthcare, a 100-bed hospital has been established in the parade ground, along with multiple other 10-bed hospitals and ICU facilities. Specialist doctors, nurses, and medical staff will be deployed to ensure adequate healthcare.
Through Maha Kumbh 2025, Prayagraj’s cultural heritage is being revitalized. Historic temples such as the Nag Vasuki Temple, Dwadasa Madhava Temple, and Alop Shankari Temple have been restored. Additionally, sites like Akshayavat, Patalpuri, and Bharadwaj Temples have been preserved and beautified. The ‘Paint My City’ campaign has adorned the city with wall paintings spanning over 3.5 million square feet, enhancing Prayagraj’s historic and cultural significance.
To ensure a hassle-free experience for pilgrims, 101 smart parking sites have been constructed, capable of accommodating up to 500,000 vehicles daily. A network of 1,249 kilometers of pipelines and 56,000 connections has been established to provide clean drinking water throughout the fair area.
