Lucknow: A special meeting between industry bodies, entrepreneurs, and the Uttar Pradesh government was held in Lucknow under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, focusing on suggestions for the State Budget 2026–27 and further strengthening Ease of Doing Business in the state. Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries, were present during the deliberations.
Inviting inputs from the industry, the Chief Minister called for practical and solution-oriented suggestions to make business processes simpler, faster, and more effective. Representatives from leading industry associations highlighted priorities across sectors such as defence manufacturing, industrial land policy, compliance simplification, IT, real estate, MSMEs, skill development, and inclusive entrepreneurship.

Demand for Land Allotment in Defence Corridor
CII Vice Chairman Abhishek Saraf emphasised the urgent need for land allotment to accelerate industrial activity in the Lucknow node of the Defence Corridor, expressing hope for swift policy decisions in this direction. FICCI Chairman Manoj Gupta proposed converting industrial land to freehold, stating that such a move would significantly enhance investor confidence and encourage long-term investments in the state.
A representative from India Pesticides Limited thanked the Chief Minister for the decriminalisation of several laws, describing it as a major and positive reform that has reduced compliance burdens on industries.
Focus on Compliance Simplification and Global Recognition
ASSOCHAM’s Co-Chairman Hasan Yakoob suggested implementing a “One Company–One Register–One Letter” system to simplify compliance procedures. He also pointed out that initiatives inspired by Uttar Pradesh’s “One District–One Product (ODOP)” scheme have been launched in countries such as the Philippines, highlighting the global acceptance of the state’s policy framework. ASSOCHAM Uttar Pradesh also shared details of its structured efforts towards youth placement and employment generation.
Emphasis on Skills, IT, and Financial Markets

Discussions during the meeting also covered industrial skills and financial markets. Industry representatives stressed the need to further strengthen ITI institutions, promote research and innovation, and support the development of equity markets, describing these measures as crucial for building a resilient and future-ready industrial economy.
Industry bodies also demanded the introduction of an One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for matters related to pollution control compliance. Additionally, they recommended establishing regular interaction between Uttar Pradesh’s MSME units and various export councils across the country to significantly boost exports.
Support for IT Start-ups and Real Estate Sector
NASSCOM Lucknow Chapter Chairman Ramesh Zaidi highlighted the need for plug-and-play facilities for small IT companies, stating that such infrastructure would help start-ups and emerging technology firms scale up rapidly. CREDAI Uttar Pradesh President Shobhit Mohan Das called for regular “Awas Bandhu” meetings, on the lines of Udyog Bandhu, to address issues faced by the real estate sector in a structured manner.
Push for Inclusive Entrepreneurship
Interacting with Manish Verma, State President of the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasised the need for focused and planned efforts to develop at least 10 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe youth entrepreneurs in every district, underlining the government’s commitment to inclusive and balanced industrial development across Uttar Pradesh.
