Sant Kabir Nagar: In a coordinated enforcement and awareness initiative, the Sant Kabir Nagar Traffic Police cleared encroachments from the Mehdawal Bypass on Thursday. The operation was carried out under the direction of Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Meena, with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar Singh, and close supervision by Traffic Circle Officer Abhayanath Mishra.
Traffic In-charge Paramhans led the team in removing unauthorized structures, roadside carts, and irregular vehicle parking that had been obstructing pedestrian movement and disrupting smooth traffic flow along the bypass. The drive focused on clearing footpaths and ensuring that no makeshift stalls or unregulated vehicle stands blocked public pathways.
Alongside the enforcement action, officers conducted a comprehensive public awareness campaign. Commuters and local residents were briefed on key traffic safety rules, including:

- Avoiding triple-riding on two-wheelers
- Not driving vehicles without proper number plates
- Strictly refraining from driving under the influence of alcohol
- Maintaining safe speed limits
- Using helmets and seat belts at all times
Officials urged citizens to not only follow traffic norms themselves but also encourage their family members, relatives, and neighbours to adopt safe driving practices. The police emphasised that community cooperation is essential for reducing accidents and ensuring safer roads across the district.
The drive is part of the ongoing traffic management and safety awareness efforts being implemented throughout Sant Kabir Nagar.
