Lucknow/Mau:A. K. Sharma, Uttar Pradesh’s Minister for Urban Development and Energy, inaugurated a newly constructed building at the Upper Primary School in Baharampur village during his visit to Madhuban tehsil in Mau district. The new school building, constructed at a cost of around ₹27 lakh, was formally dedicated to students and the local community.
During the event, the minister also launched the distribution of three-seater desk-bench sets to 70 council-run schools in Madhuban tehsil under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, involving an investment of nearly ₹1 crore. The initiative aims to improve classroom infrastructure and create a better learning environment for students in rural areas.
Addressing the gathering, Sharma said that Narendra Modi has set a goal of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, and that the foundation of this vision lies in the development of villages. “Only when every village progresses will the country truly become a developed India,” he said.

The minister also laid the foundation stone for development projects worth about ₹6 crore in 127 villages, which include installation of high-mast lights, drinking water facilities, CC roads, and interlocking roads. These projects aim to strengthen rural infrastructure and accelerate development in the region.
Sharma further announced that construction of the Kopa–Kasara road will begin soon. He emphasized that development works in the state are being carried out continuously under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government.
Several local representatives and officials attended the event, including Block Pramukh of Doharighat Pradeep Rai, Block Pramukh Representative of Mandav Shubham Singh, and Basic Education Officer Santosh Kumar Upadhyay, along with teachers, students and local residents.
