Prayagraj: Educate Girls, a leading organisation working in the field of girls’ education and empowerment, celebrated its 18th Foundation Day in Prayagraj with great enthusiasm under the theme “From Her Smile to Her Flight.”
The event was not merely a celebration but a powerful reflection of the inspiring journeys of millions of girls whose lives have been transformed through education. The programme highlighted Educate Girls’ sustained efforts toward promoting girls’ education, ensuring equal opportunities, and driving meaningful social change at the grassroots level.
A key highlight of the occasion was the sharing of Educate Girls’ achievement of being conferred the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award 2025. The honour stands as a global recognition of the organisation’s impactful work and its role in bringing transformative change to the lives of girls across underserved communities.
The chief guest, Bhagwati Singh, Secretary, Board of Secondary Education, in his address said that due to the efforts of Team Balika volunteers, many challenges that once hindered girls’ education are being effectively addressed. He stressed the need to further promote skill development alongside education and praised Educate Girls for its dedicated work toward building a better and more inclusive society. He also expressed hope for continued collaboration with the UP Board in the future.
Special guest Anil Kumar, Basic Education Officer, Prayagraj, lauded the organisation’s contribution, noting its significant support in running the Vidya Kumbh schools during the Mahakumbh. He added that similar temporary schools will be set up during the upcoming Magh Mela and expressed confidence that continued collaboration with Educate Girls would ensure the initiative’s success once again.

Educate Girls CEO Gayatri Nair Lobo, in her address, said that when governments, communities, and institutions work together with a shared purpose, education becomes the most powerful driver of social transformation. She reiterated her belief that every girl possesses immense potential to realise her dreams and shape the future of society.
The programme also featured a meaningful panel discussion with Team Balika volunteers from remote villages, who shared their experiences from the field. Additionally, an inspiring collection of stories titled “Muskaan – Stories of Hope” was released, capturing real-life success stories born out of grassroots efforts and offering hope and motivation for the future.
The event witnessed the presence of Educate Girls partners and team members, including Vikram Singh Solanki, Anushree Singh, Nitin Jha, Abhinav Dubey, Ashish, Mohammad Mehtab, Pragya Pandey, along with a large number of Educate Girls staff and Team Balika volunteers.
