EDII Launches National Campaign for Entrepreneurship through ‘Udyamita Pakhwada 2025’

From Ladakh to 19 States, Sector-Focused Programs Aim to Strengthen India’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

Ladakh | The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, a Centre of Excellence recognized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, has launched its nationwide initiative ‘Udyamita Pakhwada 2025’ (Entrepreneurship Fortnight 2025) — a celebration of innovation and enterprise across the country. The campaign seeks to promote entrepreneurial thinking, local innovation, and self-reliance while nurturing India’s position as the world’s third-largest entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The fortnight-long initiative was inaugurated on November 9, 2025, in Leh, Ladakh, by  Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh,  Kavinder Gupta, coinciding with National Entrepreneurship Day. The event featured the release of the Enterprise Ladakh Report and an Enterprises Catalogue, along with the opening of a Product Wall and Exhibition showcasing over 80 local enterprises established under the program.

Under the theme “Enterprising Ladakh,” more than 1,500 Ladakhi students have already been trained in enterprise development, MSME setup, banking, and marketing. Following its successful launch in Ladakh, Udyamita Pakwada 2025 is being rolled out across 19 Indian states and union territories between November 9 and November 21, 2025.

Participating states include Gujarat, New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Odisha, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, and Manipur, among others. Each regional program will highlight a unique local theme, reflecting the entrepreneurial strengths and opportunities specific to that region. Activities include workshops, exhibitions, dialogue sessions, competitions, and mentorship programs, designed in collaboration with state education departments and higher education institutions.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII, said, “Entrepreneurship has become the driving force of India’s progress. Across the nation lies immense untapped potential — ideas, skills, and ambitions waiting to be guided. Through Udyamita Pakwada 2025, our mission is to ignite this spirit and help individuals from all sections of society transform their aspirations into enterprises that foster inclusive and sustainable growth.”

The initiative underscores the Government of India’s commitment to fostering innovation, skill development, and job creation, with EDII playing a pivotal role in mobilizing stakeholders, educators, and communities to strengthen local enterprise ecosystems.
