E-Rickshaw Auto Association Meets Transport Minister, Seeks Road Tax Exemption

Lucknow: The E-Rickshaw Auto Association met Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh submitted a memorandum demanding exemption from road tax on electric vehicles.

Association General Secretary Mayank Srivastava said that while the government had announced a complete waiver of road tax on electric vehicles from 2023, the benefits were not reaching the people. “Despite the announcement, implementation on the ground is lacking. We have requested the minister to take immediate steps so that e-rickshaw and auto drivers can get relief,” he said.

Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh assured the delegation that the issue would be resolved at the earliest.

Those present during the meeting included Association President Munna Lal, General Secretary Mayank Srivastava, Vice President Shailendra Singh, Media In-charge Ahmed Hussain, District President Suresh Yadav, and Publicity Secretary Ramesh Gupta.
