The launch event, held in Umri near Kurukshetra, was attended by renowned cricket commentator and former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra as the chief guest. His presence added prestige to the ceremony and inspired young players eager to showcase their talent.

During the event, organisers officially unveiled the league’s poster and team jerseys, generating enthusiasm among players, sports lovers, and local talents who attended the ceremony. The event was attended by several dignitaries including league chairman Somnath Gaba, founder Ravi Kumar Gaba, Vinay Kamboj, and other prominent sports supporters from the region.

Tournament to Be Held in June

According to the organisers, the Dream Tennis Cricket League will take place from June 16 to June 21 at Samana Bahu in Kurukshetra. The competition will bring together talented players from several northern states including Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.

The league aims to establish itself as one of the major tennis cricket tournaments in North India, providing a strong platform for emerging players to display their skills.

A Platform for Young Talent

Speaking at the event, Aakash Chopra shared his experiences in cricket and encouraged young players to pursue their passion with dedication and discipline.

He noted that if a player possesses genuine talent, opportunities should be created to help them move forward, and leagues like this play a crucial role in nurturing grassroots cricket. Chopra added that tennis cricket has gained tremendous popularity across the country and competitions like the Dream Tennis Cricket League can help many aspiring players realise their dreams.

“Cricket lives in the hearts of Indians, and such tournaments give players from small towns and rural areas the chance to step forward and shine,” he said while urging youngsters to maintain sportsmanship and commitment to the game.

League Structure and Organisation

League chairman Somnath Gaba said the tournament has received recognition from the Tennis Cricket Sports Federation and is being organised with the support of the Tennis Cricket Sports Association Haryana. The event will be managed by Ultimate Event Makers LLP.

A total of 12 teams will participate in the league, with 11 players in each team. The organisers have also allowed one player above the age of 35 in each squad, ensuring a blend of youth and experience.

League founder Ravi Kumar Gaba said the primary aim of the tournament is to provide young players with a platform to showcase their abilities and encourage greater participation in sports.

He also revealed that the player selection process will begin on April 15 in Rajasthan, where aspiring players will get the opportunity to compete for a place in the league.

Honouring Local Players

During the ceremony, Aakash Chopra felicitated several emerging cricketers—including Rohit Chandigarhya, Ashu (Yamunanagar), Aman Manjhi, Danny Mandi, and Prince Kamboj—by presenting them with mementos in recognition of their contributions to the sport.

With growing interest and participation from multiple states, organisers hope the Dream Tennis Cricket League will soon become a major sporting event in North India and help discover the next generation of cricketing talent.
