Dr. Kalam’s Life Remains an Inspiration for India’s Youth: Amit Ghosh

Lucknow | Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s life and contributions continue to inspire not just India but the entire world. Renowned for his dedication, vision, and humility, Dr. Kalam’s work and character have left a lasting impact on generations. In recognition of his commitment to education and youth empowerment, the United Nations observes his birth anniversary, October 15, as International Students’ Day.

The annual event at La Martinière College, organised under the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Trust, celebrated this day with enthusiasm for the fifth consecutive year. This year, Amit Kumar Ghosh, Principal Secretary of Medical Education, Health, and Family Welfare, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Addressing students, he highlighted, “Dr. Kalam’s life is a beacon for the youth of our nation. We must strive relentlessly to build the India of his dreams. His messages hold universal relevance and following them strengthens humanity.”

During the event, students presented on Dr. Kalam’s life and ideals. They also took a pledge based on his Ten-Point Message, reaffirming their commitment to his principles. The programme was chaired by Abdul Naseer Nasir, and college principal Clover Everett concluded by encouraging students to emulate Dr. Kalam’s exemplary values.

Special guests at the event included Muhammad Wamik Khan, Ajay Kumar Gupta, and Anwar Alam. The celebration will continue over the next ten days, culminating on October 25 at the Moti Mahal Auditorium with a symposium on Dr. Kalam’s life, the launch of a commemorative magazine, and awards for top-performing students.
