DP World Gifts Pavilion and Cricket Kits to Young Players in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: As part of its Beyond Boundaries initiative, DP World has expanded its outreach in Uttar Pradesh by providing a repurposed shipping container pavilion and 250 cricket kits to support grassroots cricket development in the state.

The shipping container has been converted into a fully equipped multi-purpose pavilion, offering young cricketers a dedicated space for training, practice, and rest. The pavilion was inaugurated at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium in Lucknow in the presence of cricket legend Yuvraj Singh. It will be permanently installed at the Sage Cricket Academy, providing emerging players with access to structured coaching and essential facilities.

The initiative, carried out in collaboration with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, reinforces DP World’s commitment to its goal of donating 10 cricket kits for every 100 runs scored in ICC tournaments, ensuring equipment reaches budding talents at the grassroots level.

During the launch, Yuvraj Singh emphasized, “Talents exist in every corner of India, but real progress comes from access to proper facilities and equipment. Initiatives like Beyond Boundaries help bridge that gap, giving young cricketers the infrastructure and confidence they need to pursue their dreams.”

Hemant Kumar Ruiya, Country Manager for DP World Subcontinent (India), added, “One of the biggest challenges for emerging cricketers is access to proper facilities. With Beyond Boundaries, we are helping provide not just infrastructure but also the equipment and environment needed to nurture talent. We are proud to launch this initiative in Lucknow, creating pathways for young athletes through strong local partnerships.”

Hon. Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, Prem Manohar Gupta, highlighted, “Uttar Pradesh has a rich cricketing heritage and a large pool of emerging talent. Partnering with DP World’s Beyond Boundaries initiative strengthens cricket development at the grassroots level. Such collaborations play a key role in motivating young players and sustaining the growth of the sport.”

Since its launch in 2023, the Beyond Boundaries initiative has delivered 13 repurposed shipping containers and 3,500 cricket kits across eight countries. In India, cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Chennai have already benefited from the program. Leveraging its global integrated network in over 80 countries, DP World plans to continue expanding the initiative into high-impact markets and implement additional international rollouts in 2026.

This project not only strengthens cricket infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh but also provides young players with the tools and environment needed to excel at the national and international levels.
