“Double-Engine Growth Driving UP Forward”: Minister Nandi at Banking Leadership Summit

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Industrial Development Minister, Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, attended the 10th Banking Leadership Summit and Awards Ceremony as the Chief Guest. The event was organised by the Indian Investors Federation at Hotel Taj, Lucknow.

During the ceremony, Minister Nandi felicitated senior officials of national banks for their outstanding service in the banking sector. He also honoured leading entrepreneurs who have contributed significantly to the growth of industry in the state by bringing in investments worth thousands of crores.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Nandi said that finance is the backbone of development, and banks play a crucial role as the primary source of financing. “Large banks are essential to ensuring stability and growth in both national and global economies. The banking sector is truly the backbone of our nation’s economic system. Banks not only facilitate the flow of capital but also open pathways for holistic development,” he said.

He further highlighted that the banks that underwent consolidation have delivered impressive performance in areas such as capitalisation, efficiency, and financial strength. India’s rising global stature and growing developmental ambitions underline the need for strong and large banks, he said. “India is now the world’s fourth-largest economy, and behind this remarkable achievement lies the continuous support and contribution of the banking sector,” he added.

Speaking about future goals, the Minister said the banking sector has a vital role in realising the Prime Minister’s Vision 2047 for a developed India. He called for collective dedication and active participation to achieve this national mission.

Reflecting on the progress in Uttar Pradesh, Minister Nandi stated that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state’s economy has undergone a transformative shift over the past eight years. “The double-engine government has paved the way for rapid economic progress through impactful reforms,” he said.

He acknowledged the significant contribution of banks in financing large-scale development and infrastructure projects across the state. “For this, I extend my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all leading banks and bankers,” he noted.

Minister Nandi emphasised that the summit holds great relevance as it provides a platform to discuss the growth of the banking sector, emerging challenges, and new opportunities. He further expressed confidence that the event will serve as a milestone in promoting customer service excellence, technological innovation, and financial inclusion in the modern economic landscape.
