Lucknow – In a scathing attack on the BJP-led state and central governments, AAP MP Sanjay Singh raised serious concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, criticized the alleged misuse of cow protection laws, and questioned the credibility of PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, calling it a political stunt aimed at vote-bank politics.
While addressing the media in Lucknow, Singh lambasted the Yogi Adityanath-led government, stating, “There is a double-engine government in Uttar Pradesh, but both engines are dysfunctional.”
Questioning the Claims of Women’s Safety
Sanjay Singh sharply criticized the Yogi government’s repeated claims of ensuring women’s safety in the state. Citing recent incidents, he referred to the heinous rape of a 5-year-old girl in Agra and the tragic case of a girl in Saharanpur who committed suicide after being harassed.
“These horrifying cases are not isolated,” Singh said. “They expose the reality behind the tall promises of women’s security under CM Yogi’s administration.”
“Cow Protection Being Used as a License for Hooliganism”
The AAP MP expressed alarm over what he termed as “growing lawlessness under the garb of cow protection.” He highlighted the May 25 incident in Aligarh, where four individuals were thrashed over false allegations of transporting beef.
“Who has given these vigilantes the license to assault people in broad daylight?” he asked. “Is Uttar Pradesh turning into a state of mob justice?”
He urged the government to set up fast-track courts to ensure quick punishment in such cases, sending a strong message against lawlessness.
Criticism of ‘Operation Sindoor’: “A Political Drama”
Sanjay Singh didn’t hold back in criticizing Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, alleging it to be a “vote-bank campaign disguised as women empowerment.” He accused the BJP of “mocking the cultural and emotional symbolism of sindoor” by launching door-to-door sindoor distribution drives.
“Do BJP leaders even understand the meaning of sindoor?” Singh asked. “It is a sacred symbol of a woman’s self-respect, not a political tool for campaigning.”
He questioned the Prime Minister’s priorities:
“PM Modi changes clothes four times a day for rallies but doesn’t have time to meet the women who lost their loved ones in the Pahalgam terror attack.”
Singh also posed three direct questions to the PM regarding the recent terror strike:
-
How did the terrorists reach Pahalgam?
-
Why haven’t the attackers been neutralized yet?
-
Was the ceasefire declaration made under pressure from the U.S.?
“The 4th Largest Economy Claim is Misleading”
Calling out the Modi government’s economic claims, Singh slammed the recent announcement that India has become the world’s fourth-largest economy, calling it a “deliberate distortion of reality.”
Quoting NITI Aayog member Arvind Virmani, Singh noted that this is only a future possibility, not a current achievement.
“People don’t need GDP bragging,” he said. “They need jobs, rising per capita income, and relief from debt burdens.”
He pointed out that India ranks 140th globally in per capita income and criticized the country’s rising debt levels.
“Under 14 prime ministers, India’s total debt was ₹55 lakh crore,” Singh said. “But PM Modi alone has pushed us into a debt of ₹181 lakh crore. Is this development or destruction?”
Final Word: Urging Accountability Over Optics
Sanjay Singh concluded by urging the BJP governments at the state and center to focus on real issues like law and order, women’s safety, and economic distress instead of indulging in optical politics and cultural symbolism.
“India doesn’t need drama. It needs dignity, justice, and accountability,” he said.
