Mumbai | Bollywood actor Divya Khosla Kumar, known for her glamorous persona and outspoken views, has once again made headlines—this time over a leaked phone call with veteran filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt. The controversy stems from her allegation that Alia Bhatt’s film Jigra is a copy of Savi, a film Divya starred in and which Bhatt had produced.
The situation escalated when several media reports claimed that Mukesh Bhatt dismissed Divya’s allegation as a “publicity stunt,” reportedly saying that “Alia doesn’t need to copy anyone.” The comment angered the actor, prompting her to publicly release an audio recording of her phone conversation with Bhatt.
Divya Releases Phone Call on Instagram
On her birthday, Divya posted the call recording on Instagram, questioning Bhatt about the alleged remarks. In the audio, she is heard asking why he spoke against her in the media and whether he implied she engaged in “cheap publicity tactics.”
Mukesh Bhatt, however, denied making any such statement.
“I haven’t spoken to anyone about this, nor has any journalist asked me,” Bhatt said in the recording. “This seems like a planned move. Why would this happen exactly on your birthday? This will not affect our relationship. Don’t fall for what others say—you know me.”
Divya Accuses Industry Groups of Sabotaging Careers
Along with the audio clip, Divya wrote a strongly worded caption expressing shock over what she termed a disturbing revelation.
“I am shaken by what I’ve recently learned,” she wrote. “With a heavy heart, I feel it’s necessary to bring this truth to the public—especially for artists and fans who have faced lobbying and gatekeeping in our industry.”

She added that releasing the audio was her last resort to make people aware of how “certain groups try to destroy careers and push real talent out.”
“This behaviour cannot be normalised,” she wrote. “It’s time to speak up. It’s time to expose the industry mafia.”
A New Controversy in Bollywood
The incident has sparked a fresh debate on nepotism, insider-outsider politics, and the power dynamics within the Hindi film industry. While Mukesh Bhatt’s denial suggests the possibility of media misreporting, Divya’s public stand indicates deep mistrust and frustration.
With both sides yet to issue official statements beyond the leaked call, the controversy continues to grow, adding another layer to the long-running discussion on influence, lobbying and factionalism in Bollywood.
More developments are expected as the industry reacts to Divya’s explosive allegations.
