Lucknow: The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Northern Railway’s Lucknow Division, Sunil Kumar Verma, conducted a detailed inspection of Charbagh Railway Station, focusing on ongoing infrastructure development and facilities provided for running staff.
During the visit, DRM Verma inspected the running rooms for loco pilots, guards, and TTEs located at the Second Entry area of the station. He assessed amenities such as restrooms, kitchens, toilets, and emphasized cleanliness, maintenance, and effective waste management. Interacting directly with on-duty staff, he took note of their concerns and suggestions to enhance working conditions.
Progress Reviewed on Second Entry Building and Platform Upgrades
The DRM also visited the under-construction station building at the Second Entry and instructed officials to expedite work to ensure timely completion. He reviewed the ongoing development at Platforms 4 and 5, which are being upgraded as part of the effort to strengthen connectivity between Charbagh and Lucknow Junction.
Additionally, Verma inspected the Guard Lobby, checking the status of train operation tools and official records. He emphasized the importance of strict adherence to safety protocols and operational discipline among all running staff.
Safety Systems and Parcel Operations Under Scrutiny
The DRM further inspected the Power Cabin, where he reviewed train operation systems and directed employees to maintain the highest safety standards. Crackdown on Unauthorized Vendors
As part of a parallel operation, the Divisional Commercial Department launched an anti-encroachment drive against unauthorized vendors at Charbagh station. These vendors were found selling food and beverages without valid authorization documents and were subsequently handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for further action.
