Bareilly: A review meeting of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and PM SVANidhi schemes was held under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Avinash Singh at the Collectorate auditorium on Thursday.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate directed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates to ensure that only eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of the schemes. He emphasized strict scrutiny of applications so that the assistance reaches genuinely deserving individuals.
Reviewing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), the DM stressed the need for timely verification and approval of beneficiaries to accelerate the pace of housing construction for economically weaker sections.
While assessing the implementation of PM SVANidhi, he instructed officials to motivate beneficiaries who have successfully repaid their first loan installment to apply for the second tranche. He also directed departments to intensify awareness campaigns to ensure maximum outreach so that more eligible street vendors can benefit from the scheme.

The District Magistrate expressed concern over the high number of loan application rejections by banks, terming it unsatisfactory. He directed officials to coordinate with banks to minimize unnecessary rejections and streamline the approval process.
Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Purnima Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Project Officer (DUDA) Ramjanam Yadav, along with all Block Development Officers, were present at the meeting.
