District-Level Junior Sports Competitions Held in Lucknow

LUCKNOW –  Under the joint auspices of the Directorate of Sports, Uttar Pradesh, and the Regional Sports Office, Lucknow, high-energy district-level junior competitions for boys and girls were held today across multiple venues in the city. The day featured intense matchups in both Hockey and Kabaddi, showcasing the burgeoning athletic talent of the region.

Hockey: SAI Lucknow Claims Victory

The girls’ hockey tournament was hosted at the Mini Stadium, Vinay Khand, Lucknow. The event was officially inaugurated by Avinash Srivastava, Joint Secretary of U.P. Hockey.

  • Participation: A total of 07 teams competed for the title.
  • Results: The Sports Authority of India (SAI), Lucknow team emerged as the champions with a commanding 4-0 victory in the final.
  • Runners-up: The Mohd. Shahid Goomti Nagar team secured the runner-up position.
  • Awards: Prizes were distributed to the winners and runners-up by Mr. Ranjit Raj, Deputy Sports Officer.

Kabaddi: Chowk Stadium and Yuva Club Dominate

The Kabaddi finals for both boys and girls took place at Chowk Stadium. The matches were attended by several dignitaries, including Mr. Arvind Singh Kushwaha (Deputy Sports Officer) and Mr. C.G. Shukla (Patron, District Kabaddi Association).
