District Election Officer Accelerates Special Electoral Roll Revision; Deploys 67 Sector Officers to Support BLOs

Lucknow: To ensure the effective, transparent, and time-bound execution of the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls across assembly constituencies, District Magistrate and District Election Officer Shri Vishakh G. convened an important meeting today. The meeting focused on expediting the work of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) through the deployment of Sector Officers.

During the meeting, the District Election Officer informed that a total of 67 Sector Officers have been deployed across various assembly constituencies to support the work of BLOs. These Sector Officers will function strictly as per the orders and directions issued by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO).

He further stated that in urban areas, several officials—including municipal corporators, tax collectors, lekhpals, ration dealers (kotedaars), and Booth Level Agents (BLAs)—are already assisting BLOs in the distribution, collection, and digitisation of enumeration forms. BLOs have been instructed to work in close coordination with these personnel and ensure 100% completion of assigned tasks at the earliest.

The District Election Officer added that one Sector Officer has been appointed for every 2–3 supervisors. All Sector Officers will closely monitor the collection and digitisation of forms and ensure momentum in BLO operations.

Following the meeting, District Magistrate Shri Vishakh G. conducted a surprise inspection across various areas of Assembly Constituency 170 – Sarojininagar. He reviewed the progress of form collection and data feeding.

During the inspection, he visited Booth Numbers 351 to 357 at Raja Bijli Pasi Government College, as well as Booth Numbers 104 and 105 located at Carrier Convent School in Ashiana. He reviewed the status of electoral work and issued necessary instructions to the concerned BLOs.

He later inspected Booth Numbers 95, 96, 98, 100, and 101 at MG Convent School in Ashiana, assessing the ongoing collection and digitisation of enumeration forms. BLOs informed him that voters are currently submitting their duly filled forms, and their digitisation is being carried out simultaneously.

The District Election Officer instructed BLOs to promptly resolve any queries or doubts faced by voters while filling out the forms. He also directed EROs to deploy Supply Inspectors, ADO Panchayat officials, and ration dealers alongside BLOs in the field to ensure smooth collection of enumeration forms.

The administration has appealed to all voters to fill their enumeration forms at the earliest and submit them to their respective BLOs, contributing to a smooth and accurate electoral roll revision process.
