Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) conducted an important discussion on ongoing and completed PhD research works under the University Research Development Committee. The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal and organised by the university’s Examination Department.
During the session, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal reviewed all submitted research works and emphasised the need to share these studies with relevant national and international institutions, organisations, and research centres. He said that connecting university research to high-level policy-making bodies and experts would not only enhance the quality of work but also inspire further innovation.
“Continuous efforts must be made to ensure that the university’s research contributes meaningfully to national and societal development,” he said. He added that research outcomes should address real-world problems and open better opportunities for scholars.
Several PhD scholars presented their completed theses during the meeting:

Anurag Kumar, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, completed his research titled “Extraction, Purification and Characterization of α-Linolenic Acid Derived from Plant Sources and its Evaluation Against Mammary Gland Carcinoma” under the supervision of Prof. Gaurav Kaithwas.

Kuldeep Kumar, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, presented his study “Behavioral Effects of Web Series on Youth: A Study in Indian Context” under the guidance of Dr. Rachna Gangwar.

Bhanu Pratap, Department of Environmental Science, completed his research titled “Assessment of Wastewater Irrigation and its Impact on Plant Growth Parameters of Selected Vegetables and Cereal Crops”, guided by Prof. Venkatesh Dutta.

Kuldeep Soni, Department of Microbiology, presented his thesis “Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants Performance Evaluation and Correlation with Antibiotic-Resistant Bacterial Community” under the supervision of Prof. Ram Chandra.

K. Saif Ali Khan, Department of Statistics, completed his research “Infectious Disease Modeling through Distinct Statistical & Machine Learning Techniques”, guided by Dr. Subhash Kumar Yadav.
Controller of Examinations, Prof. Vikram Singh Yadav, informed that following the discussions, the committee will formally approve the awarding of degrees to all five research scholars.
The meeting highlighted the university’s commitment to promoting high-quality research that contributes to scientific knowledge, societal development, and national progress.
