Lucknow: On September 15th, at 6:30 PM, a unique evening of words and music will unfold in the premises of the Jaipuria Management Institute.
In this program titled “Dil ki Kalam Se,” a tribute will be paid to lyricists and poets such as Sahir, Neeraj, Gulzar, Anand Bakshi, Makhdoom, Sudarshan Faakir, and Santosh Anand by presenting their songs with new verses.
The new lyrics have been penned by the renowned poet and shayar Chandra Shekhar Varma, and they will be rendered with melodious voice by the famous ghazal singer Dr. Prabha Srivastava. This will be the second two of this series of programs.
Chandras Sekhar Varma explains that the tradition of adding new verses or stanzas to popular songs and ghazals is quite old and should be seen as a mark of respect for the original lyricists. According to Prabha Srivastava, while audiences always crave something new, it becomes even more delightful when these new words fit seamlessly with the tunes embedded in their minds.
