Lucknow: The fifth annual seven-day Ganesh Utsav has begun with great enthusiasm at Paltan Cantonment, Sector-A, Sitapur Road, where a grand idol of Lord Ganesh was installed on Wednesday.
The ceremony began in the morning with Vedic chants and rituals led by Pandit Gyandev Bajpai. Amidst joyous slogans of “Ganpati Bappa Morya,” the idol of the revered deity was placed in a beautifully decorated pandal. Local children and young people came together to decorate the temple.
Devotees will gather twice daily for aarti and devotional songs, at 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. The celebrations will include a community feast on August 31 and conclude with the immersion ceremony (visarjan) on September 2. The event drew a large number of devotees, including Ajay Kushwaha, Manish Pal, Sangeeta, and other community members, all of whom joined in the prayers.
