Deputy CM Keshav Maurya Inaugurates TYPA Photo Exhibition on World Photography Day

Lucknow: On the eve of World Photography Day (August 19), the Youth Photojournalists Association (TYPA) organized a three-day photo exhibition at Kala Srot Art Gallery, Aliganj, Lucknow. The exhibition showcases selected works of photographers from Lucknow and across India, capturing moments that speak louder than words.

The exhibition was formally inaugurated on Monday by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who cut the ceremonial ribbon. On entering the gallery, Maurya’s eyes first fell on his own portrait displayed among the collections, prompting him to smile and exclaim, “Wah! Such pictures are not easy to capture.”

The Deputy CM walked through the hall, observing each frame in detail. He praised the hard work, struggles, and dedication of photographers, acknowledging their efforts in capturing powerful moments despite challenges in the field. He assured that the Uttar Pradesh government fully supports photojournalists and even promised to revisit the exhibition despite his packed schedule.

Sacred, Natural & Sports Photography Captivate Visitors

Among the highlights were breathtaking images from the Maha Kumbh, featuring ascetics, rituals, and captivating scenes of devotion. The exhibition also displayed wildlife, birds, and sports photography, which drew admiration from visitors for their vibrancy and storytelling.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahir Siddiqui, President of TYPA, noted that photography is gaining immense popularity among today’s youth. He emphasized that parents should encourage children to channel their interest in mobile phones toward creative pursuits like photography, rather than just gaming, to help nurture their hidden talents.

The exhibition not only celebrates World Photography Day but also serves as a platform to recognize the art, struggle, and vision of photojournalists, who continue to frame stories that resonate deeply with society.
