Shravasti: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Tuesday reviewed ongoing development and construction works in Shravasti district and directed officials to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive full benefits of government welfare and social sector schemes. Emphasising that the welfare of farmers and the poor remains the government’s top priority, he instructed officers to place farmers’ interests at the forefront and effectively communicate government achievements to the grassroots.
During his visit, the Deputy Chief Minister distributed motorised tricycles and blankets to divyangjans (persons with disabilities). He also chaired a review meeting at the Collectorate auditorium with district-level officials, assessing the progress of development and construction works through the CM Dashboard. He conducted a detailed, department-wise review of government schemes and issued clear instructions for strict compliance with directions given in earlier meetings chaired by the district’s minister-in-charge.
Maurya stressed timely delivery of benefits to eligible beneficiaries and called for special focus on education and health sectors so that Shravasti can move from the category of aspirational districts to that of developed districts. He said the government is continuously working for the holistic development of even the last person in society and no eligible individual should be deprived of welfare schemes. He urged all departments to work in close coordination to accelerate development.
District Magistrate Ashwini Kumar Pandey informed the Deputy Chief Minister that all government schemes are being implemented on the ground to benefit every eligible person and assured continued efforts towards the district’s overall development.

Addressing the media, Maurya said Uttar Pradesh has a “double-engine government” committed to poor welfare, women empowerment and a bright future for youth. Highlighting Shravasti’s significance as the land of Lord Buddha, he noted immense tourism potential and said strengthening rail and air connectivity has been prioritised to ensure holistic development of the district.
The review meeting was attended by district in-charge minister Nitin Agarwal, Zila Panchayat President Daddan Mishra, MLAs Ramferan Pandey, Dr Mishrilal Verma and Subhash Satya, Superintendent of Police Rahul Bhati, Additional District Magistrate Amarendra Kumar Verma, SDM Bhinga Ashish Bhardwaj, and other senior officials.
